Supporting the South Tangerang MSMEs, UIN Jakarta opens Lengkong outlets

Syahida Inn, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta is committed to providing support for the sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises or MSMEs in the South Tangerang (Tangsel) region. This is evidenced by the opening of Gerai Lengkong (Lengkong outlets) at Syahida Inn UIN Jakarta.

The commitment to support the MSMEs surfaced when the leadership of UIN Jakarta and the Mayor of South Tangerang, Drs. H. Benjamin Davnie opened an outlet at the Syahida Inn Building, Thursday (06/24/2021). Also present in the event, Vice Rector for General Administration Ahmad Rodoni and Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development Lily Surayya Eka Putri.

Ahmad Rodoni in his renarks welcomed the South Tangerang City Government and MSMEs in entrusting the opening of their outlets at the Syahida Inn Building. He hopes that the existence of outlets will help MSMEs in marketing their products.

“Opening outlets at least helps micro entrepreneurs in building economic resilience during the pandemic,” he explained.

The Lengkong outlet, which is located in the lobby of the Syahida Inn Building, displays a number of traditional Tangsel food and soft drinks products. Besides being able to be consumed directly, the snacks are packaged as souvenirs.

Tangsel Mayor Benjamin himself welcomed the assistance of UIN Jakarta to open Lengkong Outlets in the campus environment. He hopes that the opening of outlets can help the marketing of South Tangerang MSME products.

“Our appreciation goes to UIN Jakarta who facilitated the opening of the outlet. Hopefully this will help the marketing of MSMEs," he said.

The founder of the Lengkong outlet, Lista Hurustiati, revealed that the Lengkong outlet was established recently with the hope of helping MSMEs in the South Tangerang area. Not only that, outlets also expected to strengthen the women's economic empowerment.

“Of the 132 members of Gerai Lengkong, 122 of them are women. So this surely will strengthens women's empowerment,” she explained. (usa/zm)
