Supporting Excellent Human Resources, UIN Jakarta and Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs Socialize the 2025 Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship Program
Jakarta, UIN News Online — In an effort to expand access to higher education, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta held a socialization event for the 2025 Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB) program in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) of the Republic of Indonesia. The event took place on Wednesday (April 23, 2025), at the Diorama Room, Harun Nasution Auditorium Building, UIN Jakarta.
The event aimed to provide information on various scholarship opportunities available for undergraduate (S1), master's (S2), and doctoral (S3) students, both domestically and abroad.
Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., opened the event by expressing his appreciation to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the tremendous opportunities offered to UIN Jakarta students through the BIB program.
“We warmly welcome the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship Program. This is a golden opportunity for our students to pursue higher education without financial barriers while sharpening their leadership capacities,” said Prof. Asep.
He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs in strengthening education financing. “We hope the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship continues to grow and benefit its recipients,” the Rector added.
On the same occasion, Head of the MoRA’s Religious Education Financing Center, Dr. Ruchman Basori, S.Ag., M.Ag., stated that the 2025 Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship aims to broaden access to higher education in the field of religious studies. “This scholarship provides opportunities for students to pursue further studies and develop their potential to make greater contributions to the nation,” he said.
Dr. Ruchman also explained that the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship covers funding for a variety of programs. “BIB offers four main programs, including Degree and Non-Degree Scholarships, Competency Development (Degree and Non-Degree), Research and Religious Education Funding, and Pesantren Education Support,” he noted.
The Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), aimed at enhancing the quality of human resources within the MoRA environment to be competent and competitive.
The scholarship provides comprehensive funding tailored to each education level, from undergraduate to doctoral studies.
For undergraduate students, the scholarship covers registration fees, tuition fees, book allowances, thesis assistance, transportation costs, health insurance, and living expenses.
For master's level, it includes registration and tuition fees, book allowances, thesis support, international seminar funding, international journal publication assistance, transportation costs, health insurance, living expenses, and arrival costs.
Doctoral recipients will receive funding for registration, tuition, book allowances, dissertation support, international seminar and publication funding, transportation, health insurance, living expenses, arrival costs, and family allowance.
The Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship is designed to reach various groups under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, including students, santri (Islamic boarding school students), and educational staff.
