Supported by BIN, UIN Jakarta Holds Vaccination and Booster Program

Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta, in collaboration with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) held a Covid 19 vaccination and booster shot program for academic community and the general public at the Student Activity Center Building, campus I of UIN Jakarta on Thursday (04/21/2022).

The vaccination activity which started at 08.00 WIB was monitored directly by the Special Staff of the Deputy Head of BIN Gumilar Rusliwa Sumantri and the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis. Also present in the event, Vice Rector for Student Affairs at UIN Jakarta Arief Subhan, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development  Lily Surraya Eka Putri, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Hari Hendarto.

Gumilar in his remarks said that this activity targets 1000-1500 people with a total of 1500 vaccines provided. The available vaccines are the Sinovac type for the first-second doses and Pfizer for the booster shots.

Vaccination that was held all day is scheduled to last for one day. “If there is a request to hold it for two days, then we are willing to provide support,” he said.

On the same occasion, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis expressed her appreciation and gratitude to BIN for being willing to organize a vaccination program at UIN Jakarta. According to Rector Amany, this activity really supports campus academic activities considering the policy of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion and the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture which asked PTKIN’s to immediately hold Face-to-face Learning (PTM).

PTM activities themselves require vaccination support for the academic community, especially students. “Because many students have not been fully vaccinated. So today we will complete the vaccine,” said Rector.

Vaccination support, she explained, is very necessary considering that in the coming semester all lecture activities are expected to take place offline.

“This requires all students to be vaccinated,” said Amany.

Furthermore, Gumilar urges the public to make the best use of the opportunity to be vaccinated. The vaccines given to the public have been tested, certified by relevant institutions, and endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Indonesian Ministry of Health.

“Being vaccinated also means protecting yourself and your family as well as protecting the community, nation and state. The state has allocated a large budget, we just have to use it according to health needs and procedures,” said Gumilar. (adt/anm/hmn/zm/usa)
