Support or organise events aimed to promote conservation and sustainable utilisation of the oceans, seas, lakes, rivers and marine resources
1. Mangrove Planting Program
Biology lecturers from the Faculty of Science and Technology, along with the SDGs Center at syarif hidayatullah state islamic university Jakarta, planted 3,000 mangrove seedlings to support coastal ecosystem conservation and climate change mitigation. Documentation shows the distribution of seedlings to participants, direct planting in the tidal area, seed preparation, and a group photo of all participants at the location.
2. International Forum on Climate Crisis and Islands
The delegation from syarif hidayatullah state islamic university Jakarta, representing the Indonesian SDGs Center Network (ISCN), was present as one of five Indonesian delegates at an international forum discussing climate crisis responses and sustainable development for island communities.

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with a long coastline, so the health of coastal and marine ecosystems is crucial for environmental resilience and the lives of its people. Mangrove ecosystems play a crucial role in preventing abrasion, absorbing carbon, and providing habitat for various marine biota. On the other hand, climate change threatens coastal areas and small islands, including Pari Island in the Seribu Islands. Syarif Hidayatullah state islamic University Jakarta is strongly committed to integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into education, research, and community service (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi). This initiative specifically targets SDG 14 (Life Below Water), with the aim of promoting environmental education, climate change mitigation, and the protection and restoration of coastal, marine, and island ecosystems. This program also supports SDG 13 (Addressing Climate Change), SDG 15 (Ecosystems on Land), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals).
