Student with Disabilities Become Best Graduates at the 124th Graduation Ceremony

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Vision impairment did not dampen Rayhan Naufalaldi Hidayat's determination to achieve and outstanding academic achievements. He managed to get the title as one of the best graduates at the 124th graduation ceremony of UIN Jakarta on Saturday (06/04/2022).

“Alhamdulillah, after studying hard, I finally managed to get the achievement as the best graduate,” he said.

Rayhan graduated from the Legal Studies Study Program after undergoing an undergraduate thesis defence on February 25, 2022 under two supervisors, namely Dwi Putri Cahyawati and Fathudin and two examiner lecturers, namely Sodikin and Indra Rahmatullah.

From his research thesis entitled “Pemanfaatan Alat Bantu Coblos bagi Tunanetra dalam Pemilihan Umum Serentak 2019 di Jakarta Selatan”, Rayhan is awarded with 3.94 GPA (cumlaude).

Rayhan admitted that he was very proud of the result. He also thanked all the lecturers who guided and supported him, including his friends.

According to Rayhan, there were three things that impressed him the most while studying at UIN Jakarta. The first is with faculty leaders and lecturers as well as education staff. They are considered to have been instrumental in guiding and shaping his personal character.

The second is student organizations, both intra-campus and extra-campus, which have also shaped his characters to become more active individuals. Then the third are his friends who always encourage him to excel in the midst of his current limitations.

“I am grateful to be in a good campus environment,” he said.

Besides being the best graduate, Rayhan also has a lot of experience in journal writing. His work has been published in various accredited legal scientific journals.

Among them are the Journal 'Adalah (Journal of Law and Justice) published by the Center for Constitutional Studies and National Legislation (Posko Legnas) Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Jakarta (2020), Al-Adl Journal (Jurnal Hukum) published by the Faculty of Law, University of Kalimantan, and Journal Legal Brief published by Ihsa Institute (Natural Resources Law Institute) North Sumatra (2022).
