Student organization activist stand together shoulder-to-shoulder against a pandemic

Ciputat, UIN News Online – To break the chain of Covid-19 transmission and infection, student activists from Scout movement, Korps Sukarela Palang Merah Indonesia (KSR PMI), Kelompok Pecinta Alam (KPA) Arkadia, dan Unit Syahid Medical Rescue (USMR) of the Medical Faculty distributes hand sanitizer, masks, vitamins, and antiseptic liquid to workers in several areas in Jabodetabek.

Their action also received positive responses from a number of people and groups. The hygiene kits distribution is expected to encourage public awareness on the importance of maintaining health in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic.

Chairperson of Racana Pandega of UIN Jakarta scout movement Ida Rosiana said that this social activity was not only in the form of distributing masks and hand sanitizers but also at the same time socializing how to use them. According to Ida, many residents, do not yet understand how to use masks properly and wash their hands correctly in accordance with health protocols.

Ida also added that this social action will continue to be encouraged. Even specifically for UIN Jakarta Scout movement, the social activities will also be carried out independently.

“We have been working with the Jawarafani Foundation, a foundation owned by members of the Jakarta UIN Scout Movement, to improve social humanitarian programs for communities affected by Covid-19,” said Ida.

Furthermore, Ida hopes that the community and academicians of UIN Jakarta will be able to make donations, both in the form of food packages, cash, and other health equipment.

“Donation can be distributed directly to the Jawarafani Foundation Jalan Legoso Raya No. 58 RT 02/02 Ciputat Timur, Tangerang Selatan, Banten, or Mandiri Account No. 164-00-0307088-7,” she said. (usa/ns)
