Strengthening National Asset Security, UIN Jakarta Holds Interagency Consolidation Meeting

Rectorate Building, UIN News Online — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a coordination meeting with several stakeholders in the Main Meeting Room of the Rectorate Building on Thursday (June 5, 2025) to enhance synergy in securing and regulating state-owned assets, particularly those owned by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and utilized by UIN Jakarta. The stakeholders expressed their readiness to collaborate in efforts to safeguard and organize these state assets.

The coordination meeting was directly led by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., accompanied by Vice Rector for General Administration Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., Vice Rector for Cooperation Din Wahid, Ph.D., and Acting Head of the General Administration and Human Resources Bureau Drs. Teguh Sarwono, M.Si. Stakeholders in attendance included the Head of the South Tangerang National Land Agency (BPN), Shinta Purwitasari; Chief of East Ciputat Police; Commander of the East Ciputat Military Subdistrict Command (Koramil); and village heads from the areas surrounding UIN Jakarta's campus.

In his remarks, Rector Asep Jahar expressed appreciation and gratitude to the stakeholder leaders for their full support to UIN Jakarta in safeguarding and regulating university assets. “On this occasion, we would also like to express our hope for continued support from all parties in the effort to secure and organize state-owned assets, particularly those under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and used by UIN Jakarta,” he added.

He continued by emphasizing that safeguarding and regulating these assets is crucial to ensure that state land is optimally used for educational services. UIN Jakarta, he noted, will continue to develop infrastructure necessary for student learning activities.

Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., noted that although UIN Jakarta is the user of the assets, the rightful owner remains the Ministry of Religious Affairs. He pointed out several persistent issues, such as the uncertified status of the ex-YPMII land, security concerns, and challenges related to cleanliness and environmental management of the assets.

“Part of the land around SDN Kampung Utan, thankfully, has been cleared — about 3,000 m² — and even part of the Puri Intan area has been executed. This land will be used for the development of UIN Jakarta,” he stated.

Head of Subdivision for General Affairs and Household, Abdul Halim, reported that the total land area currently owned by UIN Jakarta is only about 42 hectares out of the targeted 50 hectares. He also highlighted findings from the Audit Board (BPK) regarding asset management and raised issues related to official residences still occupied by the families of retired lecturers.

Head of the South Tangerang Land Office, Shinta Purwitasari, stated that UIN Jakarta currently owns 80 land parcels, with 30 hectares of them already certified under the state’s name. She stressed that while BPN cannot physically secure state assets, they can be immediately fenced or utilized. “Assets that are legally clear and not under dispute must be promptly registered and reported for administrative processing,” explained Shinta.

The Commander of Ciputat Military Subdistrict (Danramil) expressed his support for a persuasive approach in the protection of state assets. He noted that much of the current community control over these lands is rooted in historical factors from previous generations.

The Chief of Ciputat Police added that his department, along with the Danramil, often engages in mitigating potential land disputes. He recommended that the jurisprudential data of the Ministry of Religious Affairs' land be shared with security authorities for more structured and preventive measures.

Meanwhile, the Head of Cempaka Timur Urban Village, Tarmizi, revealed that several Ministry of Religious Affairs assets are located within RW 04/03 of East Ciputat. He emphasized the importance of providing clear information to residents, as many are unaware of the legal status of the land they occupy.

Similar remarks were made by the Secretary of Pisangan Urban Village, who rejected residents’ requests to issue recommendation letters for state assets and advocated for asset protection through legal means.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen interagency cooperation in protecting state assets from unauthorized occupation and ensuring asset governance complies with existing regulations.
