Rectorate, UIN News Online - Dean of the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiya (FDI) UIN Jakarta Dr. Yuli Yasin, Lc., M.A, along with the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and the Chair of the Master's Program, conducted an official visit to Morocco. Their visit were warmly received by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Drs. H. Hasrul Azwar, at the Indonesian Embassy Residence in Rabat on Tuesday (25/06/2024).

Ambassador Hasrul Azwar welcomed the FDI delegation and expressed support and guidance regarding programs initiated by FDI. He emphasized the importance of implementing the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that had been signed to ensure the continuity and effectiveness of the agreed cooperation.

Dr. Yuli Yasin explained that his visit to Morocco encompassed several key agendas. One of them was to ensure that FDI students could find partner universities ready to accept them for one semester as part of the implementation of the Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) program. Additionally, the visit aimed to establish collaboration in research and academic publication, as well as to promote the Master's Program in Islamic Studies to students in Morocco and Indonesian students studying in Morocco.

During this visit, the FDI delegation is scheduled to visit three leading universities in Morocco: Mohammed V University in Rabat, Abdel Malek Essaadi University in Tetouan, and Moulay Ben Abdellah University in Fes. At each university, they will engage in technical discussions regarding cooperation programs including student exchanges, joint research, and academic publications.

As part of the visit, the Dean of FDI is also scheduled to deliver a public lecture at Moulay Ben Abdellah University in Fes on the theme "Development of Islamic Studies in Indonesia." This lecture is expected to provide insights to students and academics in Morocco about the progress of Islamic studies in Indonesia and to strengthen academic relations between the two countries.

This visit marks a strategic step for FDI in expanding its international network and enhancing the quality of education and research through collaboration with higher education institutions abroad. With the support from the Indonesian Embassy in Rabat and guidance from Ambassador Hasrul Azwar, it is hoped that cooperation between FDI and universities in Morocco will proceed smoothly and bring significant benefits to both sides.
