Strengthening Collaboration: UIN Jakarta and IAIN Ambon Sign Memorandum of Understanding
Main Meeting Room, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta and IAIN Ambon have formalized a partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a meeting held in the Main Meeting Room, Rectorate Building, UIN Jakarta, on Monday (01/20/2025). The MoU marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between the two institutions in academic development, research, community engagement, and human resource capacity building.
The event was attended by key officials from both universities. Representing IAIN Ambon were Dr. Abidin Wakano, M.Ag., Rector of IAIN Ambon; Dr. Saidin Ernas, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation; Dr. Moh. Yamin Rumra, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da'wah; and the Chairman of LPM IAIN Ambon.
On behalf of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Rector of UIN Jakarta, welcomed the delegation alongside Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs; Dr. Hj Sri Ilham Lubis, Lc. M.Pd., Head of Academic Administration Bureau for Student Affairs and Cooperation; Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Head of the Research and Community Service Institute; and Zaenal Muttaqin, S.Th.I., M.Ag., Head of the Information and Public Relations Center.
In his address, Dr. Abidin Wakano, M.Ag., highlighted IAIN Ambon’s aspirations to become a leading Islamic university and expressed optimism for the cooperation. “UIN Jakarta, as the largest and leading Islamic State University, provides a wealth of scholarly expertise. This partnership places us in the right position to enhance our academic pursuits,” he stated.
He also emphasized Ambon’s unique historical and cultural significance, which presents significant opportunities for exploration and empowerment through higher education initiatives. “Ambon’s rich history and abundant potential deserve to be maximized. We hope this collaboration will allow both institutions to unlock and develop these resources,” Dr. Abidin added.
Prof. Dr. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude for IAIN Ambon’s visit and reaffirmed UIN Jakarta’s commitment to supporting IAIN Ambon in its development goals. “We are pleased to assist in realizing these plans, and we aim to implement the agreed initiatives this year. Let us begin the planning process without delay,” he said.
The ceremony concluded with the official signing of the MoU by the leaders of UIN Jakarta and IAIN Ambon. This marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at fostering mutual growth and development for both institutions.
“This agreement sets the foundation for progressive and productive cooperation between our universities. Together, we can achieve impactful outcomes for academic and societal advancement,” Prof. Asep concluded.
