STF UIN Jakarta offers Professor Azyumardi Azra scholarship

STF, UIN News Online – The Social Trust Fund (STF) and the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta offers Professor Azyumardi Azra scholarship for students who are interested in the study of history and Islamic philanthropy.

Based on STF release on Wednesday (02/26/2020), this scholarship is expected to produce prospective historians and successors of historical research as conducted by the Rector of UIN Jakarta in the 1998-2006 periods and strengthen the study of Islamic History at the same time.

The release also added that students who are currently pursuing master's degree in Islamic history studies have the opportunity to apply for the scholarship, especially for those who are conducting unconventional Islamic history studies and Islamic philanthropic studies. “This scholarship is also prioritized for students who are currently completing their thesis,” said the Release.

Nevertheless, this scholarship is only prioritized for students of the History of Islamic Culture and Civilization Masters Program at FAH UIN Jakarta as well as various other faculty master programs. However, scholarships for other faculty masters programs are only open to students who are conducting research on Islamic historical and Islamic philanthropy.

The release also mentioned that there are six priority areas of research, namely Islamic Philanthropy, Islam and Social Movements, Daily Life of Muslim Community, Islamic Education, Locality and Local Wisdom, and Local Ulema.

Meanwhile, scholarship applicants must meet the general and administrative requirements. The applicants need to submit a research proposal no later than February, 29th 2020. While administrative requirements that must be fulfilled include: conducting research on thesis writing, filling in biodata and sending research proposals online through bit.do/pendaftaranPAAS, making proposals according to the templates provided,  and have a minimum GPA of 3.25. Applicants are also required to provide a letter of recommendation from the head of the faculty or study program. All applications will be selected and the result will be announced on March 3, 2020.
