STF UIN Jakarta offers Azyumardi Azra Scholarship

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Social Trust Fund (STF) of UIN Jakarta offers Azyumardi Azra Scholarship (PAAS) for the student of Islamic Culture and Socialization or other master’s study programs with a historical concentration who are conducting research.

Based on www.stfuinjkakarta.org on Monday (01/18/2021), STF UIN Jakarta opens up an opportunity for historical students to apply for research scholarshp. The page stated that scholarships were intended for students of the History and Islamic Civilization master’s Program, Faculty of Adab UIN Jakarta or master’s students in other study programs that concentrate on History.

Furthermore, scholarships are prioritized for students who are completing their final thesis writing studies. In addition, scholarship applications are made online by filling in the online form provided by the committee. Applicants can submit their research proposal by Saturday, January 30, 2021. The result will be announced on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

The research proposal or thesis, is related to the following areas of study although other areas of historical research will still be considered. Among them are Islamic Philanthropy, Islam and Social Movements, Daily Life of Muslim Communities, Islamic Education, Locality and Local Wisdom, and Local Ulama.

This scholarship aims to advance the Study of Islamic History and Philanthropy Philanthropy in the face of ever-changing times. Applications and student research proposals will be selected based on preferences which can provide breakthroughs and novelty in advancing the study of Indonesian Islamic History.

Students who are currently pursuing a master's degree in Islamic historical studies are encouraged to apply for this scholarship, especially for those who are doing non-conventional Islamic history studies and Islamic philanthropic studies.

It is known that STF UIN Jakarta in collaboration with the Islamic History and Civilization master’s program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta, has initiated the PAAS scholarship since 2020. The use of the name Professor Azyumardi Azra itself is based on a commitment to supporting efforts in producing future historian candidates, and to provide inspiration for the study of Islamic History.
