SSE UM-PTKIN Exam Begins, UIN Jakarta Rector Reports to Director-General of Islamic Education
Rectorate Building, UIN Online News — The implementation of the Electronic Selection System for State Islamic Religious Higher Education Entrance Examination (SSE UM-PTKIN) 2025 officially commenced today, Tuesday (June 10, 2025). During the opening, UIN Jakarta Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar M.A. Ph.D. reported that the SSE UM-PTKIN exam is being conducted in 10 laboratories, attended by 6,685 participants out of a total of 9,419 applicants for UIN Jakarta via the UM-PTKIN pathway.
The opening of the UM-PTKIN exam was conducted live online by the Director-General of Islamic Education (Dirjen Pendis) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. Amien Suyitno M.A., accompanied by the Chairman of the National PMB-PTKIN 2025 Committee, Prof. Dr. TGH Masnun Tahir, M.Ag. The opening was followed online by Rectors and Local UM-PTKIN Committees from dozens of Islamic religious higher education institutions across the country.
UIN Jakarta's Rector himself participated in the online opening via Zoom, accompanied by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi M.A. M.H., Head of the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Bureau (Karo AAKK) Dr. Hj. Sri Ilham Lubis M.Pd, and Head of the Academic Division Hj. Rahmawati M.M.
On this occasion, Rector Asep Jahar reported on the progress of the SSE UM-PTKIN 2025 implementation at UIN Jakarta's local center. The Rector stated that the SSE UM-PTKIN 2025 at UIN Jakarta is concentrated at 10 Computer Based Test (CBT) laboratory points spread across various campus buildings. The exam itself will be held in 14 sessions. "Alhamdulillah, the number of participants taking the exam at UIN Jakarta's local center is 6,685 people," he said.
The total number of applicants to UIN Jakarta through the UM-PTKIN 2025 pathway reached 9,419 people. Of that number, six individuals are participants with disabilities. "For these participants, we provide special facilities to ensure they can take the exam comfortably and equitably by providing assistance," he explained.
Furthermore, Rector Asep Jahar expressed gratitude and appreciation from the UIN Jakarta academic community for the full support from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, which has enabled UIN Jakarta to become a competitive PTKIN that is a primary destination for prospective students. "Alhamdulillah, thanks to the support from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the National PMB PTKIN Committee, the number of applicants to UIN Jakarta through both SPAN and UM-PTKIN pathways is quite high," he said.
Dirjen Pendis, Prof. Amin Suyitno, appreciated the implementation of SSE UM-PTKIN at various locations, including UIN Jakarta. He hoped that all PTKINs could serve the participants well. "I appreciate the readiness of PTKINs that have accommodated participants with disabilities and conducted the exams professionally," he acknowledged.
Dirjen Pendis also emphasized the importance of conducting the SSE UM-PTKIN transparently and accountably to attract the best graduates. The UM-PTKIN selection process is not just an entrance examination but reflects the quality and integrity of Islamic religious higher education, thus it is hoped that the selection process is carried out accordingly.
UM-PTKIN 2025 itself is being implemented nationally from June 10 to 18, 2025, involving thousands of participants at various PTKINs designated as examination locations, relying on a computer-based system. UIN Jakarta offers 30 study programs through the PMB PTKIN pathway, encompassing both SPAN PTKIN and UM-PTKIN.
