SSE UM-PTKIN 2025 Opens: A New Momentum for Recruiting Excellent Prospective Students

Palembang, UIN Online News – The implementation of the State Islamic Religious Higher Education Entrance Examination (UM-PTKIN) based on the Electronic Selection System (SSE) officially commenced today, Monday (June 10). The opening ceremony was held centrally at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang and broadcast online via Zoom to all PTKINs across Indonesia.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Director-General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. Suyitno, M.Ag., along with the Chairman of the PTKIN Rectors Forum and Chairman of the National PMB PTKIN 2025 Committee, Prof. Masnun Tahir.

Chairman of the National PMB PTKIN Committee, Prof. Masnun, stated that this year's UM-PTKIN implementation has seen significant improvements, both in terms of the system and the quality of execution. According to him, the national committee remains committed to organizing a selection process that is increasingly adaptive to technological developments and the needs of the era.

"This year's UM-PTKIN not only maintains what has been ongoing but also experiences improvements in terms of system and quality of implementation. The SSE used is more stable, efficient, and capable of reaching more participants with measurable quality control," said Prof. Masnun.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the PTKIN Rectors Forum affirmed that this improvement is part of a collective effort to build a credible and fair selection process. "We want to create a selection system that provides space for all prospective students to demonstrate their best abilities, without regional or facility limitations," he added.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. H. Suyitno, M.Ag., in his speech, emphasized the importance of maintaining quality in the new student admission process. He hoped that through this UM-PTKIN, PTKINs across Indonesia could recruit excellent prospective students who are not only academically strong but also possess character and integrity.

"We are not merely chasing quantity, but quality. The expectation is that the admitted students will be those ready to become agents of change, capable of answering the challenges of the times and bringing Islamic values into social life," said Prof. Suyitno.

In the Zoom interaction session with PTKIN representatives across Indonesia, Prof. Suyitno also showed particular attention to the accessibility of test-takers. He directly asked about the number of participants with disabilities at each location and the readiness of the committee to facilitate their needs.

"This is important so that no prospective student feels left behind in this selection process," he clearly stated to the local committee.

He emphasized that inclusivity is an important part of UM-PTKIN implementation, and all PTKINs must ensure comfort and equal access for all participants, including those with disabilities.

Separately, Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., affirmed the full commitment of the local committee at UIN Jakarta to conduct the selection process transparently, accountably, inclusively, and to serve all participants optimally.

"We ensure that the implementation of UM-PTKIN at UIN Jakarta is carried out by upholding the principles of transparency and accountability. The local committee is also committed to providing the best service to all participants, including those with special needs, as part of the effort to recruit excellent students who are ready to contribute academically and socially," said Prof. Asep.

With a collaborative spirit and increasingly excellent service, he said, UM-PTKIN 2025 is an important momentum for PTKINs across Indonesia in recruiting excellent, character-driven next generations who are ready to face future challenges. "With the full support of the Directorate General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as the hard work of the National PMB PTKIN Committee, and the PTKIN committees themselves, UM-PTKIN 2025 will be able to recruit the best students," he concluded.
