SPS UIN Jakarta Screens 4 Candidates for Foreign Students

SPs, UIN NEWS Online – Four candidates following the selection of foreign students to enter Graduate School (SPs) UIN Jakarta. They came from Libya and (2 persons), China (1 person), and Egypt (1 person). They choose doctoral programs (S3) and 1 master’s program (S2).

According to one of SPS UIN Jakarta staff Adam Hesa, to  UIN News Online on Wednesday (08/01/2018), the number of foreigners participating in  SPs UIN selection is fluctuating. The number is between five and 10 people.However, in this year's odd semester lecture, there were only four foreigners who registered. "They take the selection this semester with their own personal costs," he said.

Adam also added that foreign students who pass the selection are required to follow the learning process of Indonesian first. This is done so that they can follow lectures conducted with Indonesian language, including the ability to explore the sources of learning in the Indonesian language.

"They also need to attend Indonesian language matriculation," Adam explained.

For information, the selection to enter SPs UIN Jakarta is held for two days from 31 July to 1 August 2018. Test material includes written tests on the first day and oral. The material tested on the written test includes Academic Potential Test (TPA), English language skills (TOEFL), Arabic language (TOAFL), and Indonesian language (TOIFL) specifically for foreign students. While oral exams include the ability to read Arabic and English reading, and master's thesis / doctoral dissertation proposal interview.

 A total of 78 participants took the SPs entrance test , they consisted of 36 master program applicants, and 42 doctoral program applicants . The online selection announcement will be made on August 10, 2018, and the re-registration process will begin on August 10-16 2018. (usa)
