SPAN-PTKIN & UM-PTKIN 2025: 2 Designated Student Admission Pathways to State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN)

Rectorate Building, UIN Online News - The National Academic Achievement Selection for State Islamic Religious University (SPAN-PTKIN) and Entrance Exam for State Islamic Religious University (UM-PTKIN) are available for prospective students seeking to pursue higher education at State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN), especially UIN Jakarta.

As of Wednesday (26/02/2025), SPAN-PTKIN has garnered a total of 113,938 registrants, mostly from the State Islamic University of Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (9,610), Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta (9,237), and Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung (9,159).

Apart from that, the State Islamic Religious Institute (IAIN) of Kudus has the largest number of registrants among other IAINs, with 1,437 prospective students. As for the State Islamic Religious Academy, STAIN Bengkalis leads with 562 prospective students.

"PTKIN receives growing demand from both national and international students; thus, it demonstrates its increasing recognition," Prof. Dr. H. Amien Suyitno, M.R.E., Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, explained.

To fulfill such demand, the SPAN-PTKIN and UM-PTKIN pathways are directly governed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. As for UM-PTKIN, it is based on academic performance from report card grades and additional achievements of the prospective students, and its registration will be closed on 8 March, 2025.

Alternatively, prospective students can choose the exam-based route (UM-PTKIN), which will be open for registration from April 22 to May 28, 2025. The Electronic Selection System (SSE) application will administer the exam in person at each PTKIN, based on the locations selected by the participants.

Through these designated admission routes, PTKINs across Indonesia provide their students with a synthesis of Islamic knowledge and general science, cultivating a generation that excels academically while embodying moral integrity.
