SMM PTN Barat will launch on February 26

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Sistem Seleksi Masuk Mandiri Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Indonesia Bagian Barat (SMM PTN Barat) will be officially launched on February 26. The selection system is expected to be a new alternative for prospective students in choosing the state universities they are interested in.

This was said by the Chair of SMMPTN Barat committee Aras Mulyadi during SMM PTN Barat preparation virtual workshop on Monday (02/07/2022). The workshop was attended by the Rectors and Vice Rectors for Academic Affairs throughout Western Indonesia, including the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Zulkifli.

According to Aras Mulyadi, the number of participants in the SMM PTN Barat this year has increased. If in 2021 only 17 PTN. Now it has increased by eight, bringing the number to 25 PTN.

“The eight newly joined PTNs are the UIN Riau, IAIN Batusangkar, Tanjung Pura University (Untan) West Kalimantan, North Sumatra University (USU) Medan, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Indonesian Education University (UPI) Bandung, University of Padang State (UNP), and Andalas University (Unand) Padang,” said Aras.

Aras added that the SMM PTN Barat system is not much different from the SBMPTN. In addition to using the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) model, the study programs offered are also the same.

According to the plan, the registration schedule for prospective new students will start on April 1 to June 27, 2022 and the selection result will be announced on July 18, 2022.

SMM PTN Barat is a selection system that is carried out jointly between state universities that are members of the BKS-PTN for West Indonesia Region. (ns/usa)
