SMK Informatika Sumedang's Visit to UIN Jakarta

Aula Student Center, Berita UIN Online - A total of 270 10th grade students and 15 teachers of SMK Informatika Sumedang visited UIN Jakarta on Wednesday (28/2/2024). The visit was carried out in order to implement Government Regulation (PP) Number 39 of 1992 concerning Community Participation in National Education. 

One of the forms and characteristics of PP No. 39 of 1992 is the establishment and organization of educational units in the school education pathway or out-of-school education pathway, in all types of education except official education, and at all levels of education in the school education pathway.

The arrival of students and teachers of SMK Informatika Sumedang was warmly welcomed by the Head of Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) UIN Jakarta, Zaenal Muttaqin, MPP, in the Student Center Hall. 

In his speech, Zaenal expressed his enthusiasm to welcome the visit of SMK Informatika Sumedang students, he hopes that later UIN Jakarta can build more cooperation with vocational high schools in various regions.

Deputy Head of SMK Informatika Sumedang, Otong Suderajat, expressed his gratitude to UIN Jakarta for receiving their visit and helping the students to introduce the campus, especially in the field of science and technology at UIN Jakarta. 

He also admitted that the campus visit to UIN Jakarta was the first time for SMK Informatika Sumedang. Therefore, he hopes the students have an interest and can find out various activities in the field of science, information and technology which will be practiced in the industrial world.

"SMK Informatika Sumedang has the opportunity to visit UIN Jakarta for the first time. In this shady campus, hopefully the students of SMK Informatika Sumedang have an interest in studying at UIN Jakarta. Because UIN Jakarta has facilities that support especially in the field of science and technology such as Pustipanda (Center for Information Technology and Database)," she said.

UIN Jakarta lecturer, Fauziah Muslimah, M.I.Kom., started the material by describing the profile of UIN Jakarta, Student Activity Units (UKM), to available scholarships, which can be followed by UIN Jakarta students. 

The material continued with a presentation from two lecturers from the Faculty of Science and Technology, namely from the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Saepul Aripiyanto. M. Kom and from the Information Systems Study Program, Ir. Eri Rustamaji.

Not only that, after finishing the presentation from two lecturers of the Faculty of Science and Technology, the students of SMK Informatika Sumedang were allowed to visit the Faculty of Science and Technology and several other faculties at UIN Jakarta.

During the visit at UIN Jakarta, 10th grade students of SMK Informatika Sumedang, Tina Agustina and Ilham Fadiatun claimed to be happy and amazed by the facilities provided by UIN Jakarta. Especially the supporting facilities in the field of science and technology that are unfamiliar to them. They hope to get the opportunity and become part of UIN Jakarta students in the future.

"During the campus exposure, it was very exciting, UIN campus has good and cool facilities. Hopefully, I will become a UIN Jakarta student majoring in Information Systems," said Tina, a student of SMK Informatika Sumedang, majoring in Computer Network Engineering.
