SKI Master’s program ready to produce leading muslim historian
Rectorate, UIN News Online – History of Islamic Civilization master’s program (MSKI) of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta is ready to produce the world's leading Muslim historians. This is supported not only by experienced Islamic historian lecturers but also by a strong academic culture.
This was said by the head of MSKI department Amelia Fauzia to UIN News Online in FAH Building on Tuesday (02/22/2022). “Insha Allah, MSKI department is ready to produce leading Muslim scholars who are experts in the field of Islamic history and culture,” she said.
According to Amelia, MSKI department is one of the best master degree programs at UIN Jakarta which has been accredited "A" by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). The study program also ranks first in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) with a score of 200 in the SKI S2 program category.
This achievement cannot be separated from the research-based lecture design, strong academic culture, and supported by qualified teaching staff.
Since its opening, she continued, MSKI department has carried out various academic activities, such as seminars, discussions, and workshops. In these academic activities, the MSKI Study Program has brought international history experts. They were asked to share their experiences regarding the results of their research.
“Open Minds is one of the routine programs that is often carried out by the MSKI Study Program. The discussion presented various important themes related to world Islamic history and culture,” she said.
In addition to the Open Minds program, the MSKI department often organizes public lectures and workshops on thesis writing for students. Among the invited speakers was Eva Fachrunnisa, a professor from the Australian National University (ANU) College of Asia and The Pacific.
Another achievement, a number of lecturers and students of the MSKI Study Program have also received awards. Among them is The Association for Information Systems Impact Award 2021 (AIS Award 2021) from The Association for Information Systems which was won by Amelia Fauzia and her research colleagues.
Meanwhile, for students, there are three students who have received awards in the category "Excel Students in 2021". They are Nana Sudiana, Mochammad Nginwanun Likullil Mahamid, and Tati Rohayati. Then Akhmad Yusuf, who received the best graduate title at the 121st Graduation Ceremony in 2021.
Amelia also added that the various achievements of the MSKI department were the result of the hard work of the entire FAH academic community. “I would like to thank all the lecturers and staff of the MSKI FAH Study Program. God willing, in the future MSKI departent will maintain this reputation,” she said. (ns/mh/usa)
