Singapore's Minister of State for Home Affairs: Social Contribution Plays a Major Role in Nation Building

Ruang Diorama, UIN News Online  - The Minister of State for Home Affairs and National Development, Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, shared Singapore's vision for nation-building, which focuses on education and human resource development, on Tuesday (30/07/2024).

“Singapore is a small country, but how have we been able to become a developed nation? We do not have natural resources like oil, but we have our people,” he said.

Faishal views the self-development of each individual in Singapore as a contribution to the movement for change. In both national and community life, he believes that the government must be able to assist every group in society to grow and develop.

“We have a long-term plan for Singapore. It’s not just the government, but also involves the community directly in every development plan,” Faishal said.

The government is directly involved in the development that has been planned. This allows the government to observe the implementation of these developments firsthand and directly assess their impact on the community.

He also explained how Singapore has been able to easily maintain social stability within society, given Singapore's highly pluralistic demographics.

“We have a diverse society, with various racial and religious backgrounds. Therefore, we often involve cultural and religious leaders in national events. This helps in maintaining harmony within the community,” he explained.

A harmonious and rational society is supported by a proper education system, where the Singaporean government continually strives for the best innovations for its citizens.

“We always prioritize education and hard work for our people,” he stated. (Nadhira Rahmah/ Photo: Adib Taufiqurrahman)
