Shaping Leaders, Ending Poverty: FST UIN Jakarta, Maxy Academy, and TBN Alliance Hold Public Lecture themed Leadership and Poverty Alleviation
Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN News Online - The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Jakarta, in collaboration with Maxy Academy and the TBN Alliance, organized a public lecture titled “Chapter 2025: Shaping Leaders, Ending Poverty” on Thursday, (23/01/2025). The event, held at FST’s 2nd floor theater, aimed to inspire and equip future leaders with the knowledge and skills to drive social change through sustainable technological innovation.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Khodijah Hulliyah, M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at FST, emphasized the importance of providing students with opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions and collaborations.
"We hope this lecture serves as a platform for students to exchange ideas, develop innovative solutions, and build valuable networks. These efforts will contribute to shaping a generation of leaders capable of making a real impact on society," she stated.
Isaac Munandar, CEO of Maxy Academy, reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to supporting UIN Jakarta, highlighting that this initiative follows the Innovation Impact HUB program launched in October 2024. He described the program as a dynamic space where students can develop new ideas and establish social enterprises.
"We believe in the potential of young minds to drive innovation. Through this initiative, we aim to empower students to contribute meaningfully to Indonesia’s future," he explained.
Echoing this sentiment, Teddy Hartono, Chairman of TBN Indonesia’s Board of Commissioners, stressed the urgency of investing in the younger generation.
"Generation Z is Indonesia’s largest demographic, presenting an incredible opportunity for transformation. By equipping young leaders with the right skills and mindset, we can help build a stronger and more prosperous nation. Our partnership with UIN Jakarta is an important step toward this goal," he said.
The event’s keynote speaker, Melvyn Mak, Chairman of TBN Asia’s Board of Commissioners, provided insights into the role of identity-based leadership, integrity, and creativity in fostering innovation. He also highlighted the significance of sociopreneurship in addressing global challenges, emphasizing the need for solution-oriented leadership.
The TBN Alliance is a global network dedicated to promoting economic empowerment and poverty reduction through entrepreneurship and cross-sector collaboration. Meanwhile, Maxy Academy is a bootcamp platform designed to equip students with essential skills for career readiness.
The participation of both organizations in this event reflects a shared commitment to developing future leaders who are innovative, socially conscious, and capable of driving meaningful change.
