Senate of UIN Jakarta Elects New Leadership for Three Commissions for 2026-2030 Period
Diorama Room, UIN News Online – The University Senate of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta completed its executive leadership structure for the 2026–2030 term through the election of Chairs and Secretaries across three senate commissions in the Diorama Room, Thursday (24/09/2026).
The plenary meeting was led by the elected Chair of the Senate, Prof. Andi M. Faisal Bakti, M.A., Ph.D., accompanied by the Secretary of the Senate, Prof. Bambang Suryadi, Ph.D., and attended by 162 members of the University Senate.
Chair of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Andi M. Faisal Bakti, M.A., Ph.D., expressed optimism and high hopes for the six newly elected commission leaders. He described the new leadership team as trustworthy figures prepared to meet the challenges of advancing the university's academic quality on a global scale.
“InshaAllah, they are trustworthy and responsible individuals committed to fulfilling our collective expectations here, ensuring our education and instruction become increasingly high-quality, excellent, and aligned with international standards,” he stated.
Furthermore, Prof. Andi highlighted the importance of strengthening internationally recognized research and safeguarding the university's dignity. In his view, UIN Jakarta must step further ahead by addressing global issues and optimizing diverse research funding opportunities. Simultaneously, a commitment to ethics must continuously be upheld given UIN Jakarta's standing as an Islamic-based state university.
“Regarding ethics, we certainly hope that our university's marwah (dignity) will be upheld even higher, demonstrating that our institution is firmly grounded in both Islamic principles and the state,” he emphasized.
Prof. Andi added that the results of this election will promptly be submitted to the Rector of UIN Jakarta. It is targeted that within 10 days, the Decree (SK) appointing the commission leaders will be issued so that each commission can immediately convene working meetings and formulate strategies to achieve the campus's internationalization targets.
Echoing these sentiments, Secretary of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Bambang Suryadi, Ph.D., extended his appreciation for the successful plenary election process. He underscored three primary pillars that will form the Senate's focus moving forward: reinforcing the academic core business, expanding research capacity, and upholding institutional integrity.
“Our focus is on strengthening Education and Instruction (Dikjar) because this is our university's core business, enabling UIN Jakarta to become a leading university in teaching and learning. Naturally, the second priority is research and community service so that UIN Jakarta grows even stronger as a research university,” expressed Prof. Bambang.
He also emphasized the vital role of the Ethics Commission in preserving the university's foundational values. “No less important, of course, is the ethics component, as morality and integrity serve as our main foundation as an Islamic university,” he concluded.
All Senate members are evenly distributed across the three main commissions, with each commission comprising 54 members. The three commissions include the Commission for Education and Instruction (Dikjar), the Commission for Research and Community Service, and the Ethics Commission.
Based on the results of the plenary election, the positions of Chair and Secretary of the Commission for Education and Instruction (Dikjar) were entrusted to Prof. A. Kholik (Chair) and Dr. Jakiatin Nisa, M.Pd. (Secretary), succeeding the previous leadership team consisting of Prof. Dr. Euis Amalia, M.Ag., and Dr. H. Muhbib, M.Ag.
In the Commission for Research and Community Service, leadership was entrusted to Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim, M.Ag., as Chair, and Prof. Dr. Kadir, M.Pd.r., as Secretary. Both continue the leadership relay from Prof. Didin Nuruddin Hidayat, M.A., TESOL., Ph.D., and Dr. Diana Mutiah, M.Si.
Meanwhile, the Ethics Commission is now led by Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer, M.Ag., as Chair, and Dr. Rosmaria Syafariyah Widjayanti, S.S., M.Si., as Secretary, succeeding the previous commission leadership of Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim, M.Ag., and Prof. Dr. Alek, S.S., M.Pd.
With the establishment of the leadership teams across these three commissions, the UIN Jakarta Senate is optimistic about strengthening academic governance and accelerating UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta's vision toward becoming an internationally recognized university.
