Second Session of Day Two Graduation: 772 UIN Jakarta Graduates Ready to Contribute to the Nation

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online - Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta held its 134th Graduation Ceremony for the second session of Day 2 at Harun Nasution Auditorium, Sunday (24/11/2024). A total of 772 graduates of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, each from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan Sciences (FITK) 453 people, and the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIK) 320 people, were officially confirmed.

Secretary of the Senate of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer, M.Ag., in the opening of the graduation emphasized that this momentum reflects the hopes and responsibilities of the nation and the universe. “What you receive today is not just a degree, but also character values. Education is not only an exchange of knowledge, but also character building,” he said.

The graduation procession was led directly by the Rector of UIN Jakarta after Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., SH, MA, MH, read the Rector's Decree on graduation and the announcement of the best graduates from each faculty.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph.D., in his speech highlighted the 134th graduation as one of the largest that had to be held for four days. “This is a special achievement, because not everyone can reach this point,” he said.

Prof. Asep also emphasized the importance of adaptability in a changing era. “Cum laude predicate is not the main indicator, but initiative and skill development to adapt are key,” he added. He also explained the four focuses of UIN Jakarta development, including digitalization, green campus, bureaucratic reform, and business independence.

Representative of graduates from the Social Welfare Study Program of FDIK, Puteri Indah Maharani, S.Sos., in her speech emphasized that graduation is not the end of the journey. “This is the first milestone to continue learning and serving the community. A reputable generation is a generation that upholds integrity,” she said.

The graduation ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Tirtayasa (Untirta) Banten, Dr. H. Fadlullah, S.Ag., M.Si., as the representative of Ikaluin (UIN Alumni Association). In his speech, he assured the graduates of UIN Jakarta to be able to record scientific, Islamic, and national contributions better than the previous generation.
