Scouts of UIN Jakarta Will Participate in the 14th PW PTKIN 2018

Student Affairs Building, UIN News Online – Scouts of UIN Jakarta will participate in the 14th Perkemahan Wirakarya (PW) that will be held at UIN Pekanbaru, Riau on May 3-10, 2018. The event, which aims to strengthen the fraternity of State Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKIN) students throughout Indonesia is a bi-annual agenda of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

During the 14th PW coordination meeting in student affairs office, Thursday (04/05/2018), Vice Rector for Student Affairs UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Yusran Razak MA said, UIN Jakarta is ready to send a contingent to Riau in order to succeed PW PTKIN. Participants will be sent as many as 20 people, consisting of 10 boy scouts and 10 female scouts.

“Participants who are sent to participate in this activity are scout members who have passed the selection process by the Gugus Depan. So, we're ready with the participants. As for the camping equipment, it is still in the process,” he said.

The PW committee actually stipulates that each contingent participant (PTKIN) are limited to 18 people, 9 male participants and 9 female participants. However, considering everything has been budgeted, the contingent of UIN Jakarta will send a delegation of 20 participants, four coaches, and one contingent leader.

In a meeting attended by Head of Student Affairs Ummu Baroat, Head of Sub Division of Student Talent R Trisno Riyadhi, as well as coaches and Dewan Racana members discussed about the readiness of UIN Jakarta contingent, both in terms of budgeting, readiness and the activities that will be followed.

“I hope everything goes as planned,” he said.

PW PTKIN is one of PTKIN inter-scouting activities under the auspices of the Ministry of Religios Affairs. This activity was followed by penegak-pandega scouts, including some specially invited scouts from both the host and overseas representatives.

For this year, UIN Pekanbaru will host this activity and will be followed by 57 PTKIN throughout Indonesia and some state or private universities in Pekanbaru. In addition to being focused on campus as a home base, participants are also placed in four bhakti villages in Kampar and Pekanbaru districts with a homestay system. The four villages are Manis Limau, Alam Panjang, Okura, dan Aur Sati. (usa)
