Scout of UIN Jakarta Distribute Takjil for the Less Fortunate

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Scout movement of UIN Jakarta through Dewan Racana Pandega distribute iftar food (takjil) for the less fortunate in Ciputat area, South Tangerang. The takjil distribution lasts for two days on Tuesday (04/12/2022) and Friday (04/15/2022) was carried out as a form of Scout social solidarity towards the underprivileged community.

At least 150 packaged rice along with drinks were given to people in need, such as beggars, scavengers, pedicab drivers  crossing Jalan Ir Juanda.

Head of Racana Reini Alifah said social activities such as distributing takjil to the less fortunate were a routine program of UIN Jakarta Scouts every Ramadan. In addition to helping the less fortunate in breaking their fast, they also train Scouts' social sensitivity towards people in need.

“Insha Allah, takjil distribution will continue during the month of Ramadan. Hopefully this can help people in need,” she said.

Reini added that during Ramadhan the Scout of UIN Jakarta had previously carried out similar social activities. Among them are in the form of donations to 30 orphans and breaking the fast together at the Yatim Cahaya Madinah Foundation, Pondok Cabe, Pamulang.

The activity went smoothly and received a positive response among the foundation's management and orphans.

According to Reini, Scouts' concern for the poor or anyone in need has become an obligation. Moreover, it has been taught in the Scouts Dasa Dharma. “This is what gives us enthusiasm in humanitarian activities in the community by serving and sharing with others,” she said. (ns/usa)
