Jakarta, UIN News Online – The Mathematics Education Study Program at the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training (FITK) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta achieved a major strategic milestone by converting its accreditation rank to "EXCELLENT" (UNGGUL). The official accreditation status was formally issued by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Education (LAMDIK) on Thursday (01/10/2026).

Pursuant to LAMDIK Decree Number 2139/SK/LAMDIK/Ak-ISK/S/X/2026, the EXCELLENT accreditation status remains effective from September 29, 2026, through March 19, 2029. This status was secured via the Conversion Supplement Instrument (ISK) mechanism with an overall score of 342. This accomplishment demonstrates that FITK's Mathematics Education Study Program has met all updated quality metrics and supplementary criteria mandated by the independent accreditation agency.

Furthermore, the third dictum stipulates that maintaining the EXCELLENT accreditation status requires continuous adherence to quality criteria throughout the decree's validity period. This serves as a vital foundation for the study program to consistently safeguard academic governance standards.

Chairman of LAMDIK, Prof. Dr. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd., ratified the decree while updating the legal status of the accreditation. As specified in the fourth dictum, the enactment of this new decree officially revokes and voids LAMDIK Decree Number 371/SK/LAMDIK/Ak/S/III/2024.

Welcoming this achievement, Dean of FITK UIN Jakarta, Prof. Siti Nurul Azkiyah, M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the continuous support provided by university leadership in guiding the Mathematics Education Study Program toward securing EXCELLENT Accreditation.

“Our sincere thanks go to the Rector, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, the Head of the Quality Assurance Institute, and all university leaders for their steadfast support. FITK remains tireless in its dedication to elevating academic quality through rigorous accreditation standards,” she stated.

She added that FITK's commitment to continuously improving educational quality and study program management will proceed unabated. In approximately two weeks, the Undergraduate (S1) Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program at FITK will undergo its field assessment (AL).

“In two weeks, we will undergo the field assessment for the S1 PAI program. We humbly ask for your continued prayers and support. May this milestone deliver optimal benefits for FITK UIN Jakarta and strengthen our faculty's contribution to nurturing exceptional educators,” she noted.

The Mathematics Education Study Program at FITK UIN Jakarta focuses on developing mathematical education adaptively by integrating pure mathematics, pedagogical expertise, educational technology engineering, Islamic values, and Indonesian civic identity. The program is uniquely tailored for students with a strong passion for mathematical logic, pedagogy, instructional technology, and connecting logical frameworks with critical thinking grounded in ethical and religious values.

Throughout their studies, students engage in core scientific coursework including Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Computer Programming, blended with pedagogical disciplines such as Mathematics Learning Media and Technology as well as Educational Evaluation. The learning model is further reinforced through research-based learning and problem-based learning approaches.

With a holistic curriculum, graduates of Mathematics Education enjoy broad career prospects. Beyond becoming prospective mathematics educators eligible for professional teacher certification, alumni possess strong opportunities as educational researchers, learning consultants, instructional designers in Educational Technology (EdTech) startups, edupreneurs, and educational policy analysts or evaluators within government bodies such as the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenag RI). Equipped with foundational expertise in statistics and computing, graduates can also venture into data analytics across various ministries and private enterprise sectors.

Securing this EXCELLENT accreditation stands as clear testament that as an Education Personnel Training Institution (LPTK), the Mathematics Education Study Program at FITK UIN Jakarta remains dedicated to preparing prospective educators who are competent, highly competitive, and adaptable to modern technological advances such as artificial intelligence, without compromising core mathematical mastery, critical reasoning, or academic integrity.
