Scimago Rankings 2024: UIN Jakarta Achieves Remarkable Prestige

Rectorate Building, UIN Online News—UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has achieved proud institutional academic prestige nationally following rankings conducted by the Scimago Institution Rankings in several areas of knowledge. This achievement could be a consideration for prospective students in choosing universities or study programs.

The latest Scimago Institution Rankings (https://www.scimagoir.com/), as quoted by UIN Online News, on Thursday (18/4/2024), ranked Indonesian universities in several areas of knowledge. These areas include Agricultural and Biological Sciences; Arts and Humanities; Biochemistry, Genetics, and Molecular Biology; Earth and Planetary Sciences; Economics, Econometrics, and Finance; Business, Management, and Accounting; Psychology; Social Sciences; and others.

In the Arts and Humanities cluster covering fields such as philosophy, history, literature, and religious studies, UIN Jakarta ranks third nationally after Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Airlangga. Following behind UIN Jakarta are Universitas Gadjah Mada, UIN Bandung, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

For the area of Economics, Econometrics, and Finance, Scimago Institution Rankings place UIN Jakarta at the top among State Islamic Religious Universities. The overall best national ranking is held by public universities such as Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga, and Universitas Gadjah Mada.

In the Business, Management, and Accounting cluster, UIN Jakarta also ranks first among Islamic religious universities. Nationally, UIN Jakarta ranks higher than Universitas Syiah Kuala, Universitas Haluoleo, and UIN Bandung. The top national ranking is held by Universitas Indonesia, Binus University, and Universitas Brawijaya.

Similar achievements are noted in the Earth and Planetary Sciences cluster. UIN Jakarta ranks first among State Islamic Religious Universities, leading ahead of several public universities such as Universitas Andalas, Universitas Sriwijaya, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Islam Indonesia, and others.

In the Physics and Astronomy cluster, UIN Jakarta also achieves remarkable success. Ranking 11th nationally, UIN Jakarta ranks higher than several national universities and holds the first position among State Islamic Religious Universities.

In the field of psychology, UIN Jakarta ranks in the top four nationally among all state universities in the country. In sequence, the top three positions are held by Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

Following UIN Jakarta are UPI Bandung, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Negeri Semarang, followed by Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Negeri Malang, and Universitas Brawijaya. With this position, UIN Jakarta holds the highest ranking in the psychology field among the group of State Islamic Religious Universities in the country.

For the Social Sciences cluster, encompassing fields such as communication, sociology, anthropology, education, law, and political science, UIN Jakarta again ranks first among State Islamic Religious Universities, holding the 16th position nationally. In this cluster, the top national universities are Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and Universitas Airlangga, respectively.

It is known that UIN Jakarta itself has 82 study programs across 12 faculties and graduate schools. These 82 study programs represent various fields of knowledge such as Islamic studies, economics, science and technology, psychology, politics, health, and medicine.

Out of a total of 82 study programs, 56 of them are bachelor's degree programs (S1). Prospective students interested in the offered fields of study can apply through various new student admission selection pathways offered such as SNBP, SNBT, SPAN PTKIN, UM-PTKIN, and SPMB Mandiri.
