Science, Innovation, and Faith: UIN Jakarta at the Forefront of AICIS+ 2025
Depok, UIN Online News — Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta once again demonstrated its academic excellence by participating in the Annual International Conference on Islamic Studies (AICIS+) 2025, hosted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia at the Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) campus in Depok, West Java, from Wednesday to Thursday (29–30/10/2025).
UIN Jakarta’s booth was among the most visited, featuring a rich display of interactive and creative innovations from the Faculty of Medicine (FK), the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), and the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST).
From FIKES, visitors were introduced to an Android-based Industrial Hygiene Application developed by Dr. Iting Shofwati, ST., MKK, HIU, which includes key features such as the Hand-Arm Vibration Calculator, Whole Body Vibration Calculator, 03-EBEKER (Workload Evaluation Based on Caloric Needs), and Noise Calculator.
Students from FIKES also contributed educational projects from the Pharmacy Profession Program, including Siti Meluria with her project on the Inhaler Usage Education and Safna Praweswari, who showcased a Proper Use of Antibiotics campaign.
From the FK, an innovative health application called SihatTB, developed by Yogiek Febrilianto, Dyanata Irdina Anthea, and Nabila Alya Zahidato, supports tuberculosis education and prevention.
Also featured was Azkiya Alika Putri Ahmudi’s research project titled Propolisul: Immunostimulant Evidence-Based Medicine through Pharmacodynamic and Acute Toxicity Study in Sprague Dawley Rats, previously presented at the World Invention Competition and Exhibition in Selangor, Malaysia, in 2024.
Meanwhile, from FST, several notable research works drew visitors’ attention, including Agribusiness Risk Mitigation by Dr. Ahmad Mahbubi, Teak Wood Marketing Management by Iwan Aminudin and Dinda Rama Haribowo, and Eco-Enzyme and Immunomodulatory Effects in Honey Active Compounds by Prof. La Ode Sumarlin.
Other technological innovations were also on display, such as the EcoCluster Technology by Dr. Taufik Sutanto, the Enhanced Helmet Patent by Dr. Neny Anggraini and team, and a Garbage Collector Robot by Muhamad Daffa Muis, a seventh-semester Informatics Engineering student. Daffa’s robotic creation attracted significant attention, particularly from visiting students of Islamic schools (madrasahs).
In addition to faculty contributions, UIN Jakarta’s Research Center, Journal House, Halal Center, and Green Campus Development Center also presented their latest initiatives and outputs.
The Research Center highlighted flagship interdisciplinary research programs and academic publications, while the Journal House showcased UIN Jakarta’s high-ranking journals indexed in Scopus and SINTA, such as Studia Islamika, Jurnal Ahkam, Kimia Valensi, JP3I (Faculty of Psychology), and Etikonomi.
The Halal Center introduced science-based research and certification services that support the growth of Indonesia’s halal industry.
UIN Jakarta also presented its Green Campus Innovations, including solar panels, eco-friendly electric buses (BILISS), and water drinking fountains.
UIN Jakarta’s Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., expressed appreciation for the active involvement of lecturers, students, and research units in AICIS+ 2025, who showcased strong commitment to energy sustainability and environmental preservation.
“UIN Jakarta’s participation in AICIS+ 2025 illustrates how the spirit of research and innovation continues to thrive on our campus, creating real contributions to society. It also embodies the integration of faith and knowledge that defines UIN Jakarta,” he remarked.
