Rector: SPs Students Must Be Active in Writing

SPs, UIN News Online – Students of UIN Jakarta Graduate School (SPs) must have scientific writing skills, both in the form of papers and journals. Writing standards at the Graduate School are also not the same as at other universities.

This was said by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis when opening the Study Orientation period for Masters and Doctoral programs ne students in the SPs Auditorium, Tuesday (3/3/2020). Present in the event, Director of SPs UIN Jakarta Jamhari Makruf, Deputy Director Hamka Hasan, Head of the Doctoral Program Didin Saepudin, and Head of the Masters Program Arif Zamhari.

Amany Lubis said that the Jakarta UIN Graduate School has international standards in terms of scientific papers writing.  Therefore, the students were asked to avoid the culture of copy-paste and plagiarism in writing their scientific work.

“SPs UIN Jakarta has certain high writing standards for the papers and scientific works. So, don't compare it to other universities,” said Amany.

Amany also advised the students not to be busy with their routine activities during their study period at SPs UIN Jakarta. Various activities in the workplace must also be reduced so that students can focus on writing and finish their study on time. Even now, she said, students must start writing.

“From now on, think about writing articles in accredited journals, both nationally and internationally,” she said.

The Rector also hopes that the writing of scientific papers in the SPs UIN Jakarta provides solutions to various national and international problems.

“I hope that the thesis proposal or the dissertation written must discuss global issues, not just the local ones,” she said.
