Rector of UIN Jakarta Leads the Flag-Raising Ceremony at Triguna Field

UIN Jakarta, UIN Online News — Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, participated in the independence celebration at the Triguna Field of UIN Jakarta on Sunday (August 17, 2025).

As both rector and inspector during the ceremony, he articulated several aspirations and future objectives for the younger generation by comparing the history—written in blood—to the attendees.

"Independence costs more than a fortune; it is obtained with a sheer will of our ancestors. Even the aristocrats behind their throne had encountered challenges with their physical, mental, and material powers as the price to pay in the name of freedom," the Rector of UIN Jakarta remarked in his opening addres

As constituents of the academic community, moral and intellectual prowess become the obligation to substantiate this independence with tangible contributions, considering the escalating intricacies of global concerns across technological, social, economic, and cultural domains.

He also taught a sense of autonomy in professional endeavors, discipline, and earnestness in community service as a way to commemorate Indonesia's 80th anniversary of independence.

"UIN Jakarta's initiatives in fostering national development through education, research, and community service are reinforced by its dedication as an educational institution to progress in both religious and scientific domains," he envisioned.

The Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., urged the student to continue striving for excellence and highlighted the importance of creating a character-driven campus to support Indonesia's progress, stressing that the future of Indonesia depends on its youth.
