A. Ph.D., provided motivation to face future challenges with the spirit of adapting and contributing to society. In addition, he also detailed progressive steps to improve the quality of UIN Jakarta at the global level.
In his view, Prof. Asep recognized the complexity of challenges in the digital era. He emphasized the importance of forging oneself and not being satisfied with just a GPA score.
"A smart person is one who is able to adapt to change. When you can adapt to the changing times, that means you are smart. Smart is the extent to which you can adapt to change itself," he said from the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Sunday (25/2/2024).
He explained the importance of social skills in life, that 80% of success is determined by how we manage, socialize, and communicate well. The remaining 20% is determined by intelligence. Not only that, he invited the graduates to continue to instill the human side in interacting in society.
"Don't forget to continue to instill our humanity in society," he said.
In the development of UIN Jakarta, he explained the four main agendas of UIN Jakarta, namely digitalization, bureaucratic reform, Green Campus, and the establishment of a business center for the internationalization of IT (Information Technology) development. Thus, UIN Jakarta created a new tagline to compete internationally.
"In an effort to voice global competition, UIN Jakarta now adopts a new tagline, Innovation, Green, and Humanity, which is in line with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)," he said.
In the context of humanity, UIN Jakarta Rector invites the entire academic community to contribute to UIN Jakarta's STF (Social Trust Fund). In particular, the fundraising is to help students who need financial support in education.
"We at UIN have STF, which is a fundraiser to help students. On this festive day, I invite you to contribute and donate. Contributing to education means reviving humanity itself," said Prof. Asep enthusiastically.
In the middle of his speech, Prof. Asep asked for donation time during the event. The donation was made by scanning the QR displayed on the chairs of the academic community. They can send funds through various e-wallet applications such as OVO, DANA, Shopeepay, Link Aja, Seabank, Gopay, BNI and others. In that time, the contribution of the academic community of STF UIN Jakarta reached 37,513. 835 million rupiah.
In line with the message from UIN Jakarta alumni and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuwait, Lena Maryana Mukti, highlighted STF UIN Jakarta as a form of concern for students. In addition, she also requested the elimination of the D.O (Drop Out) rule for UIN Jakarta students.
"Since becoming a member of the House of Representatives, I have talked to the previous rector, Prof. Amany Lubis, about STF. I hope to you, all UIN students should not be D.O. because they have competed with thousands of people to be able to study at UIN Jakarta," she pleaded.
The first woman in Asia to become an ambassador in the Middle East has committed to supporting UIN Jakarta's move to the international arena. Not only supporting, she also offers cooperation participation to improve the quality of UIN Jakarta.
"Mr. Rector, a message from those of us who served abroad, please tell us whatever we can do to make UIN Jakarta much better than what has been well obtained," he said.
