Rector of UIN Jakarta Emphasizes Collaborative Efforts as Key to Effective Public Relations

Syahida Inn, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta hosted a Media Strengthening Workshop on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, with the participation of 35 Public Relations officers from various faculties, hospitals, and bureaus within the university. The event was graced by the presence of UIN Jakarta’s Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., who delivered insightful remarks on the crucial role of public relations in disseminating information.

In his address, Prof. Asep emphasized the necessity of collaboration among public relations officers across different units of UIN Jakarta. He pointed out that the dissemination of information should extend beyond the internal scope of the institution, requiring coordinated efforts to ensure accuracy and reliability.

“The role of public relations in this collaboration is to effectively convey and receive information, even when there are changes, ensuring that the public is informed accurately,” stated Prof. Asep.

Prof. Asep highlighted the strategic role of media in shaping a positive image for the university and in spreading trustworthy information. He underscored the importance of the UIN Jakarta Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) as a critical player in communicating the university's activities and achievements to the broader public.

Moreover, Prof. Asep noted that in today's digital age, the influence of social media and digital platforms has become increasingly significant. He urged PIH UIN Jakarta to swiftly adapt to advancements in information technology to enhance the reach and effectiveness of the university’s communications. He also stressed the need for collaboration between PIH and the entire academic community to safeguard and promote the university's reputation.

In conclusion, Prof. Asep reiterated the importance of maintaining integrity and professionalism in managing the university's media channels. He expressed his hope that PIH UIN Jakarta would not only serve as an information hub but also establish itself as a credible reference point for the wider community. By doing so, UIN Jakarta can continue to contribute meaningfully to the development of a knowledgeable and informed society.
