Rector of UIN Jakarta deliver her Tarawih sermon at the Istiqlal Mosque
Jakarta, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis deliver her Tarawih sermon on Sunday (04/18/2021) at the Isdtiqlal Mosque, Jakarta. In the sermon entitled “Alquran sebagai Sumber Inspirasi”, Amany started to invite hundreds of Istiqlal Mosque congregants to seek forgiveness to Allah SWT.
“Ramadan is the best time to wash away sins, do the good and leave the bad,” said Amany.
The month of Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and the month in which the Quran was revealed to our prophet Muhammad (PBUH). According to Amany, the Koran is a way of life that must be applied by all Muslims according to the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
She also added that the Koran is masdar saadatud daroin, a source of happiness in this world and the hereafter. We can not only get happiness in the world, happiness in the hereafter can also be achieved through the month of Ramadan.
Amany also explained that there are at least five important inspirations from the Koran. First, directions to sirathal mustaqim, the straight path. Second, the development of science. Third, Bilhal's Da'wa. The fourth is akhlak al-karimah (noble attitude) and the fifth as syifa (cure) for all anxiety.
At the end of her sermon, Amany reminded the congregation to always be grateful to Allah for all the blessings that has given to mankind. “We can manifest this form of gratitude in the form of creative, innovative actions that are within us. This is the characteristic of good Muslims, who always believe in Allah's help,” she said. (usa/mf)
