Rector of UIN Jakarta: Building UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta with International Reputation
Gedung Rektorat, Berita UIN Online - An important point in the 2024 Leadership Working Meeting (RaKerPim) is the international recognition and reputation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. To achieve international reputation before that, there are challenges that must be faced by the academic community of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The teachers, educators of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta must be able to solve problems in facing global challenges, technology, research, and innovation that have developed in society. This was conveyed by the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph, in the first day of the 2024 Leadership Working Meeting (RaKerPim) at Mason Pine Hotel, Bandung, Monday (26/2/2024).
Prof. Asep Saepudin said that UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta needs to adapt to global changes. Not only making changes to the development of UIN conventionally, as has been done by UIN so far.
"I present all of you to combine your thoughts, make a determination and together build UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in the future in facing the responses and challenges," said Prof. Asep Saepudin.
Important points in the transformation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta into an internationally reputable university. Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta explained that Human Resources (HR), infrastructure, management system, and accessibility of education are the most fundamental points. To produce competitive graduates, a curriculum that adapts to the needs of society is needed.
"In the context of Higher Education, of course human resources are needed. How alumni, graduates of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta can enter the competitive job market, therefore a quality curriculum is needed. An adaptable curriculum, a curriculum that is not solely for religion but also, social, technology and the world of work in Asia, and the world," added Prof. Asep.
Prof. Asep conveyed the various needs that need to be improved by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, improving the quality and renewal of curriculum relevance, collaboration with industry, increasing technology integration, increasing national and international cooperation are needs that need to be improved by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Rector Asep also emphasized the importance of Endowment Fund as a collaborative financing source for universities, alumni and parties in financing innovative research and community service.
"In the next three years, four years and eight years, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta must be able to present the uniqueness of the study programs that we build. And harmonize relevant financing. Therefore, we are now focusing on strengthening study programs to focus on research, no longer competitive. But based on the research roadmap built by the study program itself," said Prof. Asep.
Prof. Asep sees the campuses of China and Saudi Arabia as references for UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to become a campus with an international reputation. Encouraging Higher Education Institutions to develop professionals with high abilities (talent scouting in the industrial field and qualified basic research talent), strengthening collaboration, building competent teaching teams and strengthening innovative talent development. it is being built by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
"The most important thing is our self belonging, our responsibility to realize how UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta wants to stand out in the region," he said.
To make UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta more advanced, Prof. Asep invites the teachers and educators of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to invest or endow together for the brothers and sisters who will continue UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
"We plant not for us, but we plant for our next generation," said Prof. Asep.
Furthermore, Prof. Asep revealed that there are 4 study programs that are now the focus of international reputation, namely the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculties of Islamic Religious Heritage period of the Academy of Religious Services (ADIA) / State Islamic Institute (IAIN).
At the end of his speech, Prof. Asep explained that UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has met the requirements of a State University with Legal Status (PTN BH). Of the 82 existing study programs, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is already relatively leading.
"For next year, I will focus on strengthening postgraduate programs. Because the uniqueness of higher education is not the undergraduate program but postgraduate.
