Rector Encourages Quality Improvement in Study Program Accreditation

Diorama Room, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis encourages all faculty leaders to improve the quality of each study program's accreditation. Accreditation is one of the biggest factors any student will consider when choosing a university or study program. If it has been properly accredited, students can rest assured that the proper vetting has already taken place.

This was conveyed by Amany during the opening of UIN Jakarta study program accreditation progress report meeting in the Diorama Room, Thursday (02/07/2019). "Accreditation of study programs is very important in maintaining educational quality and standards offered to the public," she explained.

Reffering to UIN Jakarta’s Center for Quality Standard (LPM), 34 study programs have been accredited “A”, 36 study programs have been accredited “B”, and 4 study programs have been accredited “C”.

Head of LPM UIN Jakarta Sururin added, at least 25 study programs were scheduled to carry out accreditation and re-accreditation processes to immediately submit their proposal before the end of March. "This is due the standard will increase after that period," she explained.

On the same occasion, Rector who had experience in accreditation assessments provides a number of tips for a successful process of accreditation and reaccreditation. Among them are the linkages between each required standard.

“Accreditation reports of undergraduate and master's study programs also need to be considered. Masters and doctoral study programs must better reflect that the study program accreditation report is higher than the undergraduate study program,” she concluded. (usa)
