During his inaugural address at the Plenary Session of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Inauguration, President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to assist the Palestinian people in their fight against oppression and injustice.
“As a nation that once struggled for its own independence, Indonesia holds a deep moral responsibility to support the Palestinian people. We truly appreciate President Prabowo’s clear commitment to continuing this support, which reflects the spirit of humanity and solidarity in Islam,” stated Prof. Asep.
In his speech, President Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s foreign policy principles, underscoring the country’s stance against colonialism and oppression. He also emphasized that Indonesia is ready to increase humanitarian aid, including evacuations and medical assistance, for victims of conflict in Palestine.
The Rector expressed confidence that under President Prabowo’s leadership, Indonesia’s diplomatic efforts for Palestine will be even stronger. “With this renewed commitment from President Prabowo, we believe that Indonesia’s role in supporting Palestine will expand both regionally and internationally,” he added.

UIN Jakarta’s Unwavering Support for President Prabowo’s New Administration
In addition to supporting the cause for Palestinian independence, the Rector of UIN Jakarta expressed full backing for the newly inaugurated administration led by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. In his speech, President Prabowo laid out key strategic agendas for Indonesia’s future, which include national unity, self-sufficiency in food and energy, eradicating corruption, and prioritizing the welfare of the less fortunate.
Prof. Asep conveyed his optimism, noting that the new administration’s focus on these critical areas would strengthen Indonesia’s ability to navigate both domestic and global challenges. “We fully support the leadership of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran. Their administration offers a promising future for national unity, inclusive economic growth, and significant improvements in education,” he said.
President Prabowo also called for stronger cooperation between the government, academia, business sectors, and society to achieve Indonesia’s goals of justice, sovereignty, and prosperity. The Rector welcomed this collaborative approach, seeing it as closely aligned with UIN Jakarta’s mission to nurture globally competitive human resources.
“At UIN Jakarta, we are ready to collaborate with the government on strategic programs, particularly in education, research, and human resource development. Education is key to achieving the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045, and we are eager to play our part in realizing this vision,” Prof. Asep affirmed.
The Rector further acknowledged the new administration’s emphasis on digitalization, as well as self-reliance in key sectors such as energy and food, as crucial pillars for Indonesia’s future development. He expressed hope that policies prioritizing the welfare of the people and education would remain central to the government’s agenda in order to ensure equitable prosperity.
Appreciation for the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin Administration’s Contributions
As the country transitions to a new administration, Prof. Asep also took the opportunity to extend heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing administration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin for their steadfast leadership over the past five years. Under their leadership, significant strides were made in areas such as education, infrastructure development, and economic progress.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin for their tireless dedication and commitment to the nation. Their efforts in improving education, infrastructure, and economic equality have laid a solid foundation for the future,” Prof. Asep remarked.
He also emphasized the vital role the previous administration played in advancing higher education, improving research quality, and expanding access to education. “We deeply appreciate the policies enacted by the Jokowi-Ma’ruf administration, which brought transformative changes to higher education and made education more accessible to all.”
“With the legacy left by the Jokowi-Ma’ruf government, we are confident that Indonesia will continue to move forward under the leadership of President Prabowo. UIN Jakarta remains committed to contributing to the nation’s development through quality education and the production of highly skilled human resources,” the Rector concluded.
