Rector Appreciates The Achievement of PSM UIN Jakarta

Rectorate, UIN NEWS Online— The arrival of the Student Choir (PSM) UIN Jakarta after competing in Colombo, Sri Lanka, was warmly welcomed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada MA, in his office, Rectorate building on Thursday (11/02/2017). The welcoming ceremony was done simply by delivering two gold medals and trophies from PSM Team accompanied by Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni Prof Dr Yusron Razak MA to the rector.

The Rector appreciated and congratulated the gold medal for the competition in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

"We congratulate and succeed for PSM. Hopefully, the future will be able to improve its performance in the wider arena. We should also be grateful for this achievement, because to get this medal, it requires long preparation and practice," said the rector.

From the coverage of UIN NEWS Online, it was visible that the atmosphere of emotion and pride enveloped the rector, vice rector, and PSM team. They are grateful and happy to have won the choir competition at the 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games in Nelum Pokuna Mahindra Rajapaksa Theater, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

For info, the PSM UIN Jakarta team became the champion after beating the choir team from several countries and universities in the Asia Pacific region on 21-28 October 2017.

Yusron in his speech congratulated and conveying his gratitude to PSM UIN Jakarta team who has become a champion. The victory, he said, is not just for its own corps and UIN Jakarta but also for Indonesia.

"We are proud and grateful for your achievements during the competition in Sri Lanka. As the board of leaders, we are only able to facilitate in accordance with the rules applied. I am proud, because the PSM team has been active and creative to find other sponsors, in this case the ministry to be able to participate in the competition," he said.

As proclaimed before, the team PSM UIN Jakarta which consists of 38 people was successfully won two gold medals at once. The two medals are the 1st Place of Asia Pacific Champions Competition and 1st Place of Grand Prix of Nations Colombo 2017 in the Folklore with Accompaniment category.

After the medal and trophy handover, the PSM team then took a photo with Rector and UIN Jakarta's board of leaders in the rector's waiting room, 2nd floor Rectorate building, UIN Jakarta. (usa)
