Rector: Academic community of UIN Jakarta needs to respond Indonesian leadership at the G20 forum

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis encourage the acacdemic community to respond Indonesian leadership at the World Economic Partnership Forum (G20). According to Rector Amany, this trust needs to be accompanied by strengthening the capacity of the higher education in contributing to social development after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The world community has put great trust in Indonesia to lead the cooperation forum starting in 2022. Of course, this needs to be placed as a national pride,” said Rector Amany.

This was said by Amany in her speech during the 122th virtual graduation ceremony on Saturday (11/13/2021) held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta.

It is known that this trust was proven by the election of Indonesian President Joko Widodo to continue the forum leadership at the G20 Forum meeting in La Nuvola, Italy, at the end of last October. Jokowi's leadership in the forum itself will be effective in 2022 by replacing the leadership of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

She continued, the response of the academic community to Indonesia's leadership in the global strategic forum can be done by strengthening their respective capacities. The next response is to participate in accelerating the social life recovery after the Covid 19 pandemic which has been going on for the last two years.

The acceleration response can be done by encouraging the development of MSMEs as the national majority economic sector, developing superior human resources, and developing renewable energy.

“Therefore, graduates of UIN Jakarta are required to play an active role in accelerating post-pandemic recovery in accordance with their respective fields,” said Rector.
