Ratna Sari Dewi, New Professor of FITK UIN Jakarta

Rectorate, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training or FITK UIN Jakarta now has a new professor. As of July 1, 2021, Ratna Sari Dewi was appointed as Professor of English Education. The appointment of Ratna Sari Dewi is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 49428 of 2021 concerning the Promotion of Academic/Functional Lecturer Positions. The letter was signed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Nadiem Makarim on July 23, 2021. “Starting from July 1, 2021, she was promoted to Professor in the field of English Language Education, with a credit score of 850,” said Nadiem, as quoted by UIN News online on Sunday (08/01/2021). Born in 1972, Ratna finished her bachelor's program at the Teacher Training Institute of Education or IKIP Padang, she also completed her master's degree at Padang State University. She finished her doctoral education at the State University of Jakarta. As a lecturer, Ratna teaches a number of courses in Writing, Second Language Acquisition, Quantitative Research in Language Education and others. She also writes and publishes many articles in various local and international journals. Separately, the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, appreciated the professorship achievement of Ratna Sari Dewi. According to Amany, this achievement also in line with the challenges faced by UIN Jakarta to continuously improve its academic quality. One of the important aspects needed in improving the quality is the presence of a professor who is expected to play a role in guiding the scientific development of the study program. “We welcome the achievement of the highest academic rank achieved by Ratna Sari Dewi.
