Rakerpim 2020 will present 2 expert speakers

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Ahead of the UIN Jakarta 2020 Leadership Meeting (Rakerpim), the committee continues to make various preparations. One of them is about the speakers who will present at the annual deliberation forum.

According to Asep Saupudin Jahar, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, the Rakerpim, in addition to holding commissions and plenary sessions, will also be filled with expert speakers. There are two speakers who will appear in the Rakerpim forum, namely Tan Sri Dato Seri Noor Azlan Ghazali from Universitas Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Muhammad Anis from the University of Indonesia (UI). Both of them are expert professors and have experience in developing university quality.

“We deliberately invited the two expert speakers to provide global insights to the participants regarding the plan of UIN Jakarta to become a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH) and towards global recognition,” said Asep.

According to Asep, Noor Azlan is a professional expert in the fields of finance and economics. He will deliver material on "Global Reputation University Development Strategy". While Muhammad Anis, is a professor of engineering and has experience in managing PTN BH universities while serving as the Rector of UI.

“Their experience can be used as a reference for UIN Jakarta in realizing PTN BH,” he said.

Muhammad Anis was born in Jakarta on June 26, 1957. He is a professor at the Department of Metallurgical and Material Engineering. He obtained a degree in Metallurgical education from UI in 1983. He then graduated with a Masters in Metallurgy from the University of Sheffield in England (1988) and a Doctor of Metallurgy from the same university (1991).

Muhammad Anis's academic career began by becoming the Department Head of Metallurgy at the UI Faculty of Engineering (1985-1986). Then the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (1992-1997) and Deputy Dean for Cooperation Field (1997-2000). He also held positions as Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs (2003-2007), Acting Rector (2013-2014), and Rector (2014-2019).

While Tan Sri Dato Seri Noor Azlan Ghazali is the Deputy Chancellor of SMEs and an economist. He obtained his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University. Whereas an MBA in Finance and a PhD in Economics were obtained from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, United States.

His career in the academic field, starting as a lecturer at the Faculty of Business for more than 20 years. Noor Azlan currently heads the Economic and Management Cluster in the State Professor Council (National Council of Professors, Malaysia). (usa/ns)
