Puteri Tonisa: Kartini Figures for Wiradharma Student Regiment of UIN Jakarta

Hall of FISIP, UIN News Online – Student Regiment (Menwa) command, Wiradharma unit of UIN Jakarta underwent a change. Puteri Tonisa was elected as commander of Menwa UIN Jakarta for 2018-2019 period replacing M. Sirojuddin Athar, the handover ceremonial activity took place at the hall of FISIP, campus II of UIN Jakarta, Saturday (04/21/2018).

To UIN News Online, Puteri admitted that she was surprised when she got the mandate to lead Menwa Unit of Whiradharma UIN Jakarta. This made her the only woman who managed to become a commander of the regiment since its first establishment in 1966.

According to Puteri, the seniors dare to take the risk of choosing female Menwa commander. “For the future, I hope that I can develop Menwa UIN Jakarta to be better,” she said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Student Affairs UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Yusran Razak hopes that the newly elected commander can synergized with all components in UIN Jakarta for the development of student activities that support the vision of UIN Jakarta. As we know, UIN vision today is Transforming into World Class University.

“All student organization (UKM) components in UIN Jakarta is expected to support the vision, because we also want to get recognition from the international world,” said Yusran.

In order to achieve international recognition, Yusran continued, Menwa synergized with other UKM to achieve that vision along with other UKM. “With the synergy, I hope we can achieve our goals,” he concluded. (usa)
