Pursuing International Recognition, FU UIN Jakarta Welcomes ACQUIN Assessors
FU, UIN News Online – As part of its commitment to achieving international standards, the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FU) UIN Jakarta is undergoing an accreditation process by ACQUIN (Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute), an internationally recognized quality assurance agency. This initiative is a part of UIN Jakarta’s broader efforts to enhance the global competitiveness of its academic programs and graduates.
The ACQUIN assessors, Dr. Jasmine Rudolph (Head of the International Department at ACQUIN) and Bo Schachtl (University of Regensburg), visited the faculty on Thursday (12/12/2024). The visit was part of a series of assessments involving 50 study programs across the university from 9–13 December 2024.
The Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Prof. Ismatu Ropi, M.A., Ph.D., along with the vice deans and academic staff, warmly welcomed the assessors. The assessors were introduced to the faculty’s facilities and infrastructure, including the Professors’ Room, Library, Journal Hub, Smart Class, and Theater Room.
During the tour, the assessors learned about the faculty’s long-standing history and accomplishments. Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Madia Zainul Bahri, M.A., shared insights into the faculty’s academic achievements.
“We are proud to be one of the oldest faculties at UIN Jakarta, with five undergraduate programs, three master’s programs, and three internationally recognized journals. This accreditation process is a significant opportunity to showcase our achievements and gain global recognition,” he explained.
Dean of FU Prof. Ismatu Ropi also highlighted the faculty’s unique strengths, including its role as a pioneer in Islamic studies in Indonesia.
“This visit is not only about accreditation but also about sharing our story, values, and vision for academic excellence,” he added.
The ACQUIN assessors expressed their appreciation for the faculty’s achievements and facilities.
“The Faculty of Ushuluddin has a fascinating history and exceptional academic standards. The library, with its impressive collection of classic references, stands out as a serene and inspiring place for learning,” said Dr. Jasmine Rudolph.
She also noted the faculty’s alignment with international academic standards and its potential for global collaboration.
Following the on-site visit, the assessment continued with an online meeting titled First Meeting with the Faculty and Study Program Leaders via Zoom. The session, held from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, involved in-depth discussions on academic quality standards and program development strategies.
The meeting brought together faculty leaders, including program heads and secretaries, to discuss the implementation of global best practices in education and research.
The Faculty of Ushuluddin hopes this international accreditation process will not only enhance its academic reputation but also serve as a benchmark for continuous improvement in delivering quality education aligned with global standards.
