Public Relations has a strategic role in disseminating BLU to the community

Rectorate, UIN News Online – The Public Service Agency (BLU) is the government's representation in providing services to the community as stated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 23 of 2005. However, only about 53 percent of the people have heard of the word BLU, 45 percent are aware of BLU, and 61 percent of the people have never heard of BLU.

This was stated by the Director of Financial Management Development of the Public Service Agency (PPK BLU), the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, Ari Wahyuni, during a Webinar on Tuesday (07/13/2021).

Apart from Ari, other speakers were Okta Danang Diantama (Senior Social Media Analyst of the Customs and Excise Directorate), Chef Afit, Lucy Wiryono (Holycow Steakhouse), Rulli Nasrullah (Digital Communication Expert and Lecturer at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Science at UIN Jakarta).

Therefore, said Ari, this condition will encourage public understanding of BLU through the role of public relations. Currently, BLU public relations already has communication and publication media, but it has not been integrated and synergized.

“BLU is a government agency that has a strategic role in accelerating public services that represent the government,” said Ari.

Ari said that currently there are 250 BLUs spread across 22 ministries/agencies with total assets of Rp 1,000 trillion. BLU is expected to continue to grow and provide optimal services to the community, especially in the current pandemic situation.

The commitment of three Ministers, namely the Minister of Finance, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and the Minister of National Planning and Development last March to oversee the service challenges in 2021 with the tagline ‘BLU Berstrategi Pulihkan Ekonomi’ is a communication strategy that aims to deliver BLU services as widely as possible to the public. and it is hoped that it can also indirectly increase non-tax state revenue (PNPB) obtained by BLU.

Communication strategies that will be implemented include creating BLU branding and values, BLU Ways program, Podcasts, BLU Service Portal, BLU Movie, and BLU Virtual Expo.

She also added, with the public relations gathering, it is hoped that the synergy of all BLUs will be created to jointly provide information and education to the public and other stakeholders. BLU is a form of government presence to provide public services and to know financial management as part of the state budget. In addition, BLU public relations as a medium that carries out a communication strategy to create trust and a good image of the government. (usa/ns/lsn)
