Public Free Medical Checkup: Faculty of Medicine of UIN Jakarta Gives Community Service at EXPOSE 2025

Student Center Hall, UIN Online News - The Faculty of Medicine, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, takes part at UIN Jakarta Expose 2025 event by opening a free health check booth for the public who attended this event on Thursday (06/02/2025).

This activity aims to introduce the public about the Faculty of Medicine as well as to educate them with the importance of routine medical checkup, so as not to suffer from prolonged diseases.

Through UIN Online News, a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and a specialist in clinical nutrition, Witri Ardini, M.N.S., in a short interview explained the types of health checks provided at this booth, including body mass composition tests which function by predicting potential health problems such as excess body fat, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and uric acid.

Thus, with this examination, it is hoped that the public can be more aware of their body condition. "After the participants visited this health check booth, we hope that they can better understand the importance of routine medical checkup. Often, people only check their health when they have had already sick, though prevention is much easier than treatment," said Witri who directly involved in this examination.

In addition, she emphasized that this activity is part of the Three Obligations of Higher Education, also serves as the community service. "Through this activity, we want to change the public's mindset that health facilities are not only for treatment, but also for prevention," he added.

The health checks at this booth were carried out by qualified lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Jakarta. In addition, the equipment used in this examination was funded by their faculty's capital as a meant to realize the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially for the community service.

This health check examination received positive feedback from the visitors of the UIN Jakarta Expose. They hoped that similar events could be held annually to increase the awareness of the importance of disease prevention among the community.
