Public Discussion on Strengthening Sharia Economic Institutions: Towards Indonesia as the World Center of Sharia Finance

Rectorate Building, UIN Online News- In collaboration with FEB and P2EKS, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a public discussion on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, themed "Strengthening Sharia Economic Institutions." This discussion focused on the importance of institutional strengthening as part of enhancing Indonesia's Sharia economic ecosystem and infrastructure.

During the discussion, the speakers agreed that strengthening Sharia economic institutions is crucial to realizing Indonesia's vision of becoming the World Center of Sharia Finance. This can be achieved through synergy and collaboration between various institutions, including the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS).

One important point discussed was the need to elevate KNEKS's status from a "committee" to an "independent body." This aims to give KNEKS stronger authority in carrying out its duties and functions, such as promoting the development of Sharia economics in Indonesia.

According to the speakers, with institutional strengthening and inter-institutional synergy, Indonesia's vision of becoming the World Center of Sharia Finance will be realized in the near future.
