Pubdok UIN Jakarta Visits UGM Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, UIN NEWS Online - UIN Jakarta Publication and Documentation (Pubdok) Sub-Division conducted comparative study of information management to Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, Tuesday (03/10/2017). The comparative study aimed to explore the experience of managed information from state universities with the best ratings on Webometrics.

The comparative study team which was led by head of Publication and Documentation sub-Division Feni Arifiani S.Ag., MH, accepted by UGM Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Iva Ariani S.S., M.Hum., which was accompanied by Head of News release of UGM Satria Ardhi Nugraha S.S., MA., And Head of Information Services Division Hestining Kurniastuti, MBA.

The comparative study was filled with presentation and discussion of information management in UGM Yogyakarta. In her presentation, Iva said, information management is done by releasing information to public as one of work priority.

Information delivery is done through various conventional media and social media. Conventional media is done by using printed media such as bi-monthly magazines, newsletters, and website pages. "All of these delivering media is used because they have their own consumer segment of information" she explained.

The development of media technology, she continued, UGM Yogyakarta as university also maximizes the use of social media such as facebook, twitter, and youtube in presenting information. Social media utilization is considered able to support the delivery of information through conventional media.

Iva added, the success of information management conducted by UGM Yogyakarta cannot be separated from the fully supported of their leadership. "The power of public relations in conveying information is in our leaders. Thankfully, they recognize the importance role of public relations as a representative for this university, "she said.

In his speech, Feni acknowledged, the information management activities in UGM Yogyakarta have been well developed either in structure and system. Those good achievement cannot be separated from the support given by their leaders and awareness of the whole university member in conveying information to the public.

"That way, no wonder UGM website becomes one of the best national university website on Webometrics version," he said. (usa)
