PTKIN BLU is Demanded to Creatively Develop its Funding Sources
Jakarta, UIN News Online – To to supports its academic development, State Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKIN) with the status of a Public Service Agency (PTN BLU) is encouraged to be more creative in exploring its funding sources. Sharia business activities can be seen as one of the sources of funding for university development.
This is the conclusion of the 2019 UIN Jakarta Business and Budget Plan Exposition which took place at Hotel Sofyan Cut Meutia, Jakarta, Friday (11/09/2018). This activity was attended by a number of speakers, among them are Secretary General of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. M. Nurkholis Setiawan and two Members of the UIN Jakarta Supervisory Board in Jakarta Prof. Dr. Kamaruddin Amin and Prof. Dr. Achmad Gunaryo.
Also present in the event, Vice Rector for General Administration of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Abdul Hamid, PK Bureau Chief Drs. Subarja M.Pd, Head of Internal Audit unit (SPI) Dr. Achmad Tjahja M.Si.
Gunaryo in his presentation encourages UIN Jakarta as BLU PTKIN to direct business development as a source of academic and institutional funding. This is deemed very necessary in order to achieve the university’s academic goals.
“It's a good idea to start thinking about how the Budget Business Plan and its projections are directed towards business development. Sharia business for example,” he said.
Sharia business activities, he explained, have a number of advantages. As a business, sharia business has considerable economic potential along with the spirit of the national sharia industry. “Additionally, sharia business also allows UIN Jakarta as PTKIN to contribute to the national sharia industry and sharia scientific development,” he added.
