PSGA UIN Jakarta will organize international webinar on the role of women in the new normal era
Rectorate, UIN News Online – Center for gender and child studies (PSGA) UIN Jakarta will organize an international webinar entitled “Peran Perempuan dalam Membangun Peradaban di Era New Normal” on Tuesday, December 22th, 2020. This webinar will present a number of local and international expert speakers.
Based on the PSGA press release on Friday (12/04/2020), this seminar aims to increase the role of women in building world civilization and cooperation between countries. Second, to increase the women’s participation in various fields of life, education, economy, family and world peace.
PSGA also stated that the Covid-19 pandemic had a major impact on women around the world. The existence of inequality and various forms of discrimination faced by women is very concerning. The pandemic has become a fairly real threat to women's jobs and livelihoods, especially in the informal and non-essential sectors. Not to mention, the escalation of domestic violence against women and children that occurred during the pandemic era has increased significantly.
In the response to Covid-19, women have a very important role. Nowadays, many women are already at the same level as men so that their roles cannot be ruled out. Many of them take part in government, education and other vital sectors, both at local and international levels.
This international webinar event will be opened with remarks from the Chairman of the PSGA Ulfah Fajarini, and then continued by the remarks from UIN Jakarta’s Rector Amany Lubis and Indonesian Ambassador to Afghanistan Arief Rachman. Meanwhile, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi will appear as the first keynote speaker with the topic "Peran Perempuan dalam Membangun Perdamaian Dunia". Meanwhile, the second keynote speaker will be delivered by the Director of the Afghan Women's Network, Hasina Safi, with the topic "The Role of Women in Building Civilization".
In addition, the Director of Social Trust Fund (STF) UIN Jakarta and Professor of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities Amelia Fauzia and Professor of the Ushuluddin Faculty of UIN Jakarta Sri Mulyati will deliver a presentation on the topic “Peran Perempuan di Bidang Filantropi” and “Peran Perempuan di Bidang Spiritual dan Kesehatan Mental”.
