Proving Leadership: Governor of Lemhannas Returns to Lead UIN Jakarta Alumni Association

Ciputat - Governor of the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI), Dr. H. Tb. Ace Hasan Syadzily M.Si, is once again elected as the General Chairperson of the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Alumni Association for the period from 2024 to 2029. He is elected acclamationately at the 6th IKALUIN National Conference (Munas) event which was conducted at the Alumni Center Building, Second Campus of UIN Jakarta on Saturday (18/01/2025).

In his speech, this graduate of Arabic Language and Literature Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities expressed his gratitude for the trust given to lead the alumni organization for the next four years. Therefore, he affirmed his commitment to strengthen the role of alumni in supporting the progress of UIN Jakarta and providing real contribution to society.

He said that the development of alumni organizations needs to be done in esprit de corps. Fellow alumni must act as a family unit who were born from the motherland of Ciputat Campus. Thus, he invites all alumni to build alumni organizations and UIN Jakarta regardless of different backgrounds since the came from the same university.

“Because we are both individuals who were forged in Ciputat, differences are common in both opinions and ideals. However, our thoughts must remain similiar. The goal we all want to achieve is how UIN Jakarta alumni will be able to play strategic roles in the context of building the people, the country, and the progress of the nation,” he explained.

On the other hand, Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., congratulated the ascension of Tb. Ace Hasan as Chairman of IKALUIN. According to him, Ace is the right figure to lead IKALUIN again based on his impressive track record in leading IKALUIN since 2020-2024 period.

For this reason, Rector Asep Jahar hopes that Ace's leadership in his second period can bring even greater progress to the alumni organization. “We congratulate Dr. Ace Hasan for this great mandate. We are certain that under his leadership, UIN Jakarta Alumni Association will be more supportive, progressive, and become a strategic partner in supporting the progress of the campus,” he said.

Furthermore, Rector Asep Jahar hopes that he will synergize more in achieving UIN Jakarta's vision to produce high-quality graduates. “I hope that this collaboration can continue to provide real benefits for the wider community, especially the alumni,” he added.

On-site observation shows that the re-election process for the position of Chairperson of IKALUIN for the 2024-2029 period went smoothly. In the general perspective session, IKALUIN administrators from various regions such as South Sulawesi, South Sumatra, Lampung, NTB, Jakarta and Banten expressed their support for this man, who was born in Labuan, Pandeglang, Banten, to return to lead the IKALUIN organization in the next four years.

During his previous presidency, Tb Ace is considered successful in embracing all elements of UIN Jakarta alumni. He is also seen as the man who was initiating various programs that benefit alumni and the wider community. In fact, the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program for the general public and the construction of the Alumi Center Building are also one of his achievements.

It is known that Ace, who is the son of the late K.H. Tb. Rafe'i Ali (Annizhomiyyah Islamic Boarding School), completed his bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature Department of Faculty of Adab and Humanities (1994). He was previously pursuing education in a number of Islamic boarding schools such as Cipasung Tasikmalaya Islamic Boarding School and Krapak Yogyakarta Islamic Boarding School. Furthermore, Ace completed his master's degree in Anthropology, FISIP, University of Indonesia (2001-2004); doctoral degree in Government Science, FISIP, Padjajaran University (2010-2014).

After several periods as a member of DPR, Ace is appointed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the Governor of Lemhannas on October 22, 2024. For your informatiom, Lemhannas RI is a Non-Ministerial Government Institution tasked with organizing education for the preparation of cadres and preparing national-level leaders. They must be qualified with this criterion: cadres who are able to think comprehensively, integrally, holistically, integratively and professionally; leaders who have national character, morals and noble ethics; statesmen who mastered Indonesian insight, and universal perspective.
