Professor Euis Amalia Wins the 2021 Sharia Figure Award

Jakarta, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta Professor Euis Amalia was chosen to be one of the 2021 Sharia figures from Majalah Investor. She received the award in the 16th Best Syariah 2021 Award and the 13th 2021 Syariah Figures Appreciation activity, Thursday (10/21/2021).

The committee's official release said Professor Euis was selected as one of three national sharia figures. The other two are Chairman of the Indonesian Waqf Board Professor Muhammad Nuh and President Director of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) Hery Gunardi.

The three figures above were selected for their respective roles in the development of the national sharia economy. Nuh is considered to have an important role in encouraging the development of waqf, Hery plays a role in the development of the Islamic banking industry and financial services, and Euis is active in the development of academic studies on the Islamic economy.

Responding to the appreciation, Euis expressed his gratitude and hoped for the support of many parties who had been encouraging her. “Hopefully this will motivate me to be more creative and provide benefits for the people and the nation,” she hoped.

Representing the committee, News Director of BeritaSatu Media Holdings Primus Dorimulu revealed that the award was given as an appreciation for the role of figures in the development of the national sharia economy. According to Primus, this is in line with the expectations of many parties in encouraging the growth of this economic sector.

“This appreciation is routinely carried out every year for sharia companies, products and services as well as Sharia figures, which is a clear proof of our commitment to advancing the sharia economy in Indonesia,” he said.

Euis Amalia is a Professor of Islamic Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Jakarta. He teaches a number of courses in Islamic economics such as the History of Sharia Economic Law, Contemporary Issues in Islamic Banking, Dynamics of Islamic Economics: Challenges and Opportunities, Fiqh Muamalah in Banking and Finance.
