Professor Dede and Professor Masri Lead the University Senate
Diorama Room, UIN News Online – Dede Rosyada and Masri Mansoer was elected as Chair and Secretary of the University Senate for the period of 2022-2026. Dede and Masri will replace Abuddin Nata and Armai Arief, who will soon complete their term of office on August 31, 2022.
In the election, four professors of UIN Jakarta expressed their willingness to be nominated as Chair and Secretary of the University Senate. The four are Prof. Dede Rosyada and Prof Saiful Mujani as a candidate for Chair of the University Senate, Prof. Masri Mansoer and Prof. A. Salman Maggalatung for Secretary of the University Senate.
Prof. Dede won the most votes for the Chair of the Senate with 51 voters or 9 votes ahead of Prof. Saiful who won 42 voters. For the position of Senate Secretary, Prof. Masri won 49 votes or won 8 votes over Prof. Salman as many as 41 votes.
“Congratulations to Professor Dede and Professor Masri who won the most votes as Chair and Secretary of the University Senate,” said the Chair of University Senate for the period of 2018-2022 Abuddin Nata on Monday (08/15/2022) at Diorama Room, campus I of UIN Jakarta.
The senate meeting which lasted approximately three hours was also filled with the submission of the University Senate's performance report for the 2018-2022 period. According to Abuddin, the University Senate has positioned itself as a critical partner in various policies for the development of UIN Jakarta over the past five years.
For the leadership of the Senate in the 2022-2026 period, he continued, there are a number of tasks that must be carried out immediately. “As of September 2022, the selected University Senate must immediately prepare for the election of the Rector of UIN Jakarta and the establishment of its own senate organizational committees,” said Abuddin.
On the same occasion, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis appreciated the University Senate members who participated in the election. She also expressed her gratitude for the partnership of the University Senate during the leadership of Prof. Abuddin and Prof. Armai Arief. (zm/usa)
